If you’re a makeup lover, you surely are aware of the hype that has been surrounding the LA Girl Pro Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Foundation (That’s a mouthful and a half right?) It recently hit Dischem stores in South Africa, at last, so you know I had to get my hands on it.
The Foundation claims to be medium-full coverage, smooth, long wearing and flawless.
Packaging:You’re getting 28ml of fluid in a sleek looking design fitted with a pump head. I find that the pump tends to still create a bit of a mess due to how runny the foundation can be.
Shades: I highly recommend you physically test the shades out on your hand or neck before purchasing. The foundation is quite pigmented so you really have to blend it out to see it’s true colour. I picked up a shade that looks quite yellow/orange on my hand but blends out to be my perfect shade. There are 14 shades in the collection, if I’m not mistaken.
Coverage: I’m always on the lookout for a good full coverage foundation to hide a couple stubborn acne scars. I had high hopes for this one in particular but was sadly let down. It has amazing coverage but it’s just not buildable. If you have good skin with slight blemishes then the coverage will not disappoint.
Texture: The foundation is not too thick nor too runny. It’s easy to blend out with a brush or beauty blender. I used my favourite brush (Swiitch Beauty buffer brush) to apply the product before bouncing my beauty blender for an airbrushed look.
Finish: I am extremely impressed with the finish of this foundation. It is definitely smooth and flawless with and without a primer. It is definitely long wearing and dries to a semi matte finish. I’d recommend this foundation whether you’re dry or oily skinned.
The LA Girl Illuminating foundation is now one of the best lower end foundations I have ever tried. Is it worth the hype? Yes. Yes. Yes.
There’s 2 days till Friday 😉 Enjoy the rest of your week, beauties ❤
